This is the mantra
for the Sun that comes in the scriptures known as The Puranas.
The mantra is:
JAPA
KUSUMA SANKASHAM, KASHAPEYAM MAHADYUTIM;
TAMORIM
SARVA PAPAGNAM, PRANATOSMI DIVAKARAM.
OM
SURYAYA NAMAHA
I propitiate the spirit of the Sun, the day-maker
of great brilliance, destroyer of all sins, I the enemy of darkness the
descendent of Kashyapa, the one who shines like the japa flower.
