Today’s mantra is is to Buddha as the ninth avatar of
Vishnu. There where different kind of divine work the Buddha
came to do. Buddha means the enlightened one. Siddhartha Gautama was the great
teacher of spiritual consciousness. A whole religion developed around him,
Buddhism. We will learn as well a few Buddhist mantras in the following weeks.
Buddhist taught that the root of unhappiness is
desires, so we must detach from all desire. As its main principles, there are
the Four Noble Truth:
1. All Existence, as we know it, is suffering.
2. Misery is rooted in ignorant craving or desire.
3. Misery can be abolished by eliminating ignorant craving or desire.
4. This elimination can be accomplished by following
the prescription offered by the Eightfold Path.
The
Eightfold Path:
1. Right Understanding
2. Right Mindfulness
3. Right Speech
4. Right Action
5. Right Livelihood
6. Right Effort
7. Right Meditation
8. Right Emancipation
The mantra is:

SRI BUDDHA AVATARAYA NAMAHA
