Shiva Mula Mantra

Namaste,

Today will talk about Lod Shiva's Mula or foundation Mantra.
Shiva is one of the gods of the masculine trinity of the Hindu pantheon, along with Brahma and Vishnu. He is the destroyer of all negativity, and he is also the god of consciousness and bliss. For this reason he is followed by all yogis. Shiva is the ultimate Yogi.
He created yoga as we know it today, with all its ramifications. Don't forget that Mantras are the yoga of sound, and are part of Bhakti Yoga, the yoga of devotion.
One of Shivas indirect disciples named Patanjali, compiled the teachings of yoga, known as the yoga sutras.
There are two different representations of Shiva. One is the Yogi sitting on a tiger skin, in Lotus pose, meditating and wearing tiger skin garments.
Mount Kailash in the background. He wears rosaries or malas around his neck and arms, Made of the sacred seed called rudraksha. Rudra is an aspect of Shiva. Rudrakshas are the tears of Rudra. He has long dreads and a waterfall pouring from the top of his head. The new moon symbolizes the Soma Chakra, where the pineal gland is located.
The other popular depiction is Shiva Nataraj, a standing dancer with Serpens coming out of his hair and a halo around him.
A popular translation of this Shiva Mantra is that he is one with OM, with the creation of the universe. Another interpretation is based on the fact that Shiva is a pilar of infinite energy, located in our bodies from the base of the spine to the crown of the head projecting into the infinite on both sides.
THE six syllables of this mantra represent:

OM                               Mind
NA                                Earth
MA                               Water
SHI                              Fire
VA                                Air
YA                                Ether

The Mantra is:

OM NAMAH SHIVAYA
OM                             Sanskrit symbol representing the creation of the Universe
NAMAH                   I salute and honor you (short for Namaha)
SHIVAYA                Name of the deity with the masculine suffix.
